HK Village
The Star Ferry Terminal is one of the major gateways from Kowloon to Hong Kong. By redeveloping the terminal as a tripartite structure with a ground-level transportation center for buses and ferries, a raised plate containing a restaurant, grocery store, school, cinema, and other amenities, and a secondary ground plain with pencil towers perched high in the air, the terminal becomes it's own community. The project is raised some 20 meters above the transportation park below to allow for visitors and passengers to see the beautiful Hong Kong skyline across the harbor and to allow the people residing in the pencil towers to maintain a certain amount of privacy on such a busy site.
